Google has announced a Google Labs competitor for Second Life – jury is way way out yet to say whether it’s better (or worse) than Second Life, but high hopes. I’ve only just created an avatar and had a bit of a look around.
You can create your own rooms, and paper them with Youtube videos – apparently. I created my own room so I can see how it goes. However it is very very very beta. Looks like there is potential but very early days yet. The client died on me several times, which was kinda nice. But I was able to get a YouTube video playing fairly quickly, which was nice compared to my earlier disasters with Second Life’s confusing interface.
Now – can we get webcam in there?
